In a beautiful collaboration, we celebrate our origins and carry on the tradition. The collaboration between Sandlund/Hossain and Böle Garveri came very naturally. There is a strong family bond that binds us together.
Böle Tannery outside Piteå has been in the Sandlund family since the 1890s and for four generations has produced high-quality leather products, giving people bags that last a lifetime and making the tannery a royal court supplier.
The legacy of Böle Garveri is as strong as it is clear. A basic philosophy of letting quality and care take their time, because that's the only way we create timelessness.
We know that heart and soul rest in the details. And that naturally high quality is the most durable thing you can wear. A bag made of full-grain leather becomes a lifelong companion that is shaped and developed over time, just like you.
SINCE 1899
In the same way as in Böle Garveri over a hundred years ago, it is the craftsmanship, nature and the timeless design that give us strength even today. We tan the leather vegetableally using traditional methods and from what nature gives us. The design is neither trendy nor out of date, it is timeless and elegant.
The combination of craftsmanship, nature and design is not static – on the contrary, endless possibilities and amounts of exciting expressions are created depending on the creator. Just look at Treehotel, Icehotel and Hernö gin. We are inspired by how Britta, Yngve and Jon drew strength from their surroundings and shaped something unique for the world to share. Their sense of quality is unmistakable, like Böles.
The three bags in the Sandlund/Hossain x Böle Garveri collection are therefore named after Britta who took the Norrland tree house to new heights with Treehotel, Yngve who built the Icehotel directly from the Torne river and Jon at Hernö gin who distilled the world's best gin from our most important raw material of all .
"We aim for the treetops but stand firmly on the ground, with the foundation in the culture, history and local craftsmanship found here."
"With a heart for craftsmanship, I create the world's most award-winning gin from natural botanicals and with inspiration from nature along the High Coast."
"We interact with nature to be able to change its shape every year. The natural ice that is harvested from the Torne River is shaped into art that attracts visitors from all over the world, and then melts back down to the river again."
